Threads by Meta
Threads, developed by Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, launched just a couple of weeks ago. Threads is currently only available on mobile devices but that has not prevented it from becoming the fastest growing social network to date. It reached 100 million users in just 5 days. For comparison, it took X (previously Twitter) 5 years and 5 months to reach that number.
The powerful reason Threads has amassed so many users in such a short space of time is its tight integration to Instagram. At this point in time, it is only possible to create a Threads account if you have an Instagram account. The two are then tied. This means that it is easy to carry over followers from one to the other.
